Have you tried plain old vitamin C powder?

My kid and her dad both came down with congestion, sore throat, and fever yesterday, as did most people at my office.

I dosed her with vit C powder and chewable C's all day (a gram every few hours) and she was burning with 102 fever most of the day and would only drink liquids. One final 2 gram dose at bedtime with some eucalyptus infused oil on her chest and she's 100% this morning. Still not wanting to eat much but no fever and running around playing. I have a vaporizer going with H2O2 food grade to purify the air since her dad is still sick.

Her dad is stubborn and so is worse today and can barely talk or get off the couch.

Vit C nukes anything in my experience - staph, allergic reactions, flu. I use the powder, gluten and corn free.
