anyone here will respect your views, even if they haven't changed as a result of the replies to your post.

However, what you will need to do (without wishing to be condescending or patronizing) is to do some thorough and valid research of your own, to either confirm/corroborate your views on fasting and healing, and/or change these views into those of the majority of members here.

I would strongly recommend you purchase the contemporary book on fasting by Dr Joel Fuhrman MD entitled: "Fasting and Eating For Health". This contains a veritable mine of information on the subject, including.............

"Therapeutic fasting accelerates the healing process and allows the body to recover from serious disease in a dramatically short period of time. In my practice I have seen fasting eliminate lupus and arthritis, remove chronic skin conditions such as Psoriasis and eczema, health the digestive tract in patients with ulcerative colitis and Chrohns disease, and quickly eliminate cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure and angina. In these cases the recoveries were permanent: fasting enabled longtime disease sufferers to unchain themselves from their multiple toxic drugs and even eliminate the need for surgery, which was recommended to some as their only solution"........."Fasting and Eating For Health" page 1.

The book has over 269 scientific references which corroborate the information he has written on, as to the efficacy of the fast, and in most all conditions of ill-health/disease.

Your comment arn that............

"Pregnant mothers should not normally do anything too drastic to their bodies, including long fasts".

A. Is absolutely right. No one is advocating fasting for mums-to-be under normal circumstances, except those outlined in a previous post.

AND........

"The health of a person with malnutrition would normally be better as a result of eating regular meals".

A. Is true again arn. No one should advocate fasting for those suffering with malnutrition, except in those circumstances outlined in that same post made previously.

This is incorrect.......

"Healing would normally be quicker for a person with a severe ankle sprain, or other injury involving tissue damage, while eating regular meals, including an adequate amount of protein".

A. Email Dr Fuhrman MD as to how he recovered/healed from a foot injury that ended his professional ice-skating career, and motivated him to change careers into Natural Medicine.

Chrisb1.
