This was posted recently and I am going to address it here:

contrary to what the yuccaphiles advertise for everything from 'crashed adrenals' to 'ibs', yucca can be a dangerous food and even cause death.

i see that the leader of the yuccaphile cult prescribes yucca like candy without warning people that it can cause death.

very very dangerous advice to be so flippantly handed out.

the bitter yucca root can have as much as 50x more cyanide as some other varietes and death can be very sudden.

seems a bit hypocritcal to me to warn people about iodine and liver flushes when the 'yuccaphiles' are recommending things that are proven to actually kill people.

The yucca referred to in the link is for cassava root (manioc root), not the Yucca schidegra that I have recommended many times and that is the type of yucca root sold in health food stores.  These are totally unrelated plants and don't even grow in the same countries.  Even if we are talking about actual Yucca species, and not a Euphorbia like cassava, there are many different species.  Not all are used in medicine.

Cassava root itself is routinely eaten in many parts of the world and can be purchased in supermarkets here in the U.S.   Cassava root is processed though before consumption to make it safe to consume.

Even tapioca, a favorite of mine is actually made from cassava root.  I have yet to see any evidence of anyone ever dying of tapioca though.

Again, people need to research their claims before posting things if they are not familiar with the topic already.
