Have you checked to see if you are sensitive, allergic, or intolerant of certain foods through testing like blood or prick? You can always control the high insulin/glucose by avoiding too many carbs (that are considered normal portions) but reducing the carb portion of meals and eating more proteins/greens instead. Carbs, whether complex or not, are processed by people very quickly and turn into blood sugar fast.
