Yes...all this attachment, grasping, corruption is defilement.

What is noble is the FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS and the EIGHT-FOLD PATH. Once this path is fully known and properly understood, then one discovers that within them is the power to get out of suffering. And this state of being (sometimes called Nirvana or the Kingdom of Heaven) is beyond dualistic concepts of pleasure or pain.

When one follows this dharma path completely to the end it is said that one can achieve an eternal bliss-body. That is the fruition for the yogis and contemplatives whose hard-work is finished. One is "born-again" with an actual light-body which can even accomplish miracles.

Then these Bodhisattvas (noble beings) or good Samaritans work ceaselessly to tell their family, friends and all others how to achieve the same state of eternal happiness.
