Neato cool!! Good for you!!
I own the previous version of the Omega (8003) which is only slightly different. They did some improvements to the auger but mine has worked great for over 5 years and I bought it used so it's prolly in the 10 year old range. That Omega design is the most versatile bang for the buck. It's a little slow and the chute is kinda small so you hafta chop things down but it's still an awesome versatile juicer that does a really good job extracting the most juice form a variety of veggies. Slow is a good thing when making juice since it doesn't introduce oxygen or heat to the juice with both gives you better quality juice preserving the live enzymes and retarding oxidation so you can make batches that can last a coupla days in the fridge if you fill your containers to the brim to eliminate as much air as possible.
One of my fave things to do with it is to get some bananas peel'em and cut them up to bout 1 inch length and freeze them. Use the straight cone tip and run the nanners though it for the most awesome raw desert treat you've ever had. Smooth, creamy and sweet. Hard to believe it's nothing but straight raw frozen bananas.
BTW Omega has awesome customer service. I broke the chute cover cause I tried to feed some refrigerated 1/2 inch thick coconut chunks trying to make coconut cream. You are only supposed to feed the coconut without refrigerating (I didn't know). All I had to do was email Omega a pixs of the broken part and had a new in the mail with 4 days. No questions asked.
Use the forum search function to find a number of delish green juice recipes from my 108 day juice feast.
