Hi James,

I had no other choice than to see the old Ent I saw 5yrs ago. He's the only one in town. I couldn't drive any further after the way I've been feeling.

Before he went in the room I overheard (they were talking loud) him talking. It sounded like they were in shock about why I was there after 5 yrs. At that time it was one lymph node that he found swollen- he felt it by hand. What they used on me was radioactive iodine with the uptake scan-felt like I was burning.

He thought I had also seen him for the throat pain but I didn't have throat pain before, it was difficulty swallowing which I can live with fine- as long as I can eat whole food. It is the severe painful ears with burning and cysts the main reason I went to see him before that's when he found the enlarged lymph node by hand and ordered the uptake scan.

He wasn't concerned about my lymph nodes being hard or painful along both sides of my neck or that the pain spreads down my shoulder/arm- from my throat/neck pain. He felt the one I've had since that time and commeneted on how I still have it- wasn't concerned of the size. He found a little one on the left- along the side of my throat. Said this is completely normal for lymph nodes to get full (grow) that one gets filled, then the next one gets full and so on.

He looked in my throat with a dental mirror tool, didn't move my right tonsil to look behind it but said that everything looked normal. The lumps on the floor of the inside of my mouth are normal to him. He said everything looked fine on the uptake scan done 5yrs ago- didn't look suspicious.

I have another lump under my jaw it's about the size of the other bigger one. I don't recall him saying anything about it. They are both not hurting. The smaller chain of lymph nodes that run into my neck from the end of my ear lobes are still painful and stay tender. I keep getting numbness from under my neck/jawline up to my face & top of my head.

I took him the mri discs that show the degeneration of the back of my neck. Said all the pain including the throat pain can be related to it. He said he can't wave a magic wand to make me feel better and all he can offer is "Neurotin" something about it helping my nerves but I have to increase the dosage if I feel it isn't helping up to 1800 miligrams the highest, or blood tests to see if I have an autoimmune disease like Rheumatoid arthritis. I already had a test done for this and it wasn't positive.

What I did notice on saturday is that I suddenly got alot of bone pain. My arms hurt so much that I couldn't wash a dish. This happened after eating dulse for 2 days, but I was also swabbing eucalyptus/tea tree oil around my gums because it helps numb my throat. I had never ate dried dulse like that right out of the package. I forgot to tell him how my throat and neck hurts/swells more when I eat fruit, salt, wheat bread, corn tortillas, beans, rice, potato honey, nuts like almonds, pecans, eggs, cod fish, juiced carrots, gluten free flour, but now that I think about it he would've said I'm probably allergic to that food.

While I was sitting there the pain spread from my throat, into my collar bone, shoulder, arm and 1/2 my face/neck and my mouth and jaw felt numb. Thinks it's nerve related. I'm not a doctor I know but I'm starting to think the 2 bigger lumps and the little one he found on the left side near my throat are probably thyroid nodules. Except they did an ultrasound in 2011 and didn't see any nodules. I'm confused.

I've gotten back on iodoral (don't want to high dose like I was)and plan on getting your thyroid tonic to see if I can avoid becoming hypothyroid. My thoughts are that if I reacted to dulse so badly that maybe I do have hashimotos. I have the antibodies.

Can you please let me know what you think? I'm going to see an endocrinologist again. Tomorrow I have an appt with a chiropracter.

Hashimoto's does sound like part of the problem since this can be aggravated by iodine supplementation.  But it also sounds like you have several unrelated issues going on. For example, the neck degeneration can cause the nerve issues, but not the lumps in the neck.

Focusing on the adrenals would be a good start in case it is Hashimoto's.

For the disc degeneration the focus should be on rebuilding collagen.  For example, silica and vitamin C sources.

I don't know if he did any blood work, but you should check to see if they did your parathyroid hormone levels as well.  If low then I also recommend focusing on increasing vitamin D levels.
