As regards the massaging of the lymph nodes, I cannot say for sure what effect it has had overall in the improvement of my lip condition, and I don’t know what of all the things I’ve been doing has had the greatest impact. Many of these things could have been contributing.
As regards proof that these things work, the only proof so far is that these things have worked for me. Time will tell if others have success with them, but I would be amazed if some others didn’t see improvements. I’m convinced detox is the key (at least for those of us who don’t have inflammation symptoms. Those who do, should look into finding what’s causing the immune reaction). I haven’t done a trawl through this forum, but like I mentioned before, having looked at the bright star award (BSA) post, and the highly recommended (RN) posts above (feel free to RRR this thread if you want), as well as some recent posts by, for example, Goodcalluk, you could say that there is growing “proof” that the way of tackling this condition is through removing products that come into contact with the lips and facial skin such as toothpaste, soaps, mouthwash, etc, and/or, probably more importantly, doing methods of removing the overall toxicity of the body (i.e. detoxification), be it tackling microorganism problems in the digestive system, or removing heavy metals, or whatever. Tackling lymphatic congestion should help also. For some success was gained by removing an allergen. So I’m convicced that detoxification is the key. (If you haven’t already checked the BSA and RN posts in “Read this First” section at head of forum then you should, you can see what detoxification methods worked for particular people, or what products/allergen they removed to gain success).
So, it may be a case of finding the detox methods that work for you, but I feel that overall lowering of the toxicity levels in the body should see improvements. Therefore, it may be worthwhile in finding a good naturopath (a type of alternative health practitioner for those not familiar) if there is one in your area, and discussing your condition and potential detox methods. Try and find one that does digestive system tests (stool tests/urine tests/saliva tests) for microorganism problems (parasites, bad bacteria, fungi, etc) or other digestive problems (e.g. fermentation, acidity). Also discuss other potential toxicity problems such as heavy metals, and lymphatic congestion. Then they may discuss a personal detoxification method that may suit you. I personally haven’t done this yet, but currently I am reading an excellent book on digestive health and problems arising from digestive system issues by a naturopath, and am considering contacting one. Unlike mainstream medical practitioners a good naturopath will take a look at the overall health picture. (Those with inflammation symptoms may also gain from going to a naturopath, as inflammation may begin relating to digestive problems, and then manifest in the skin of the lips. Allergy test specialists are also worth checking out for inflammation sufferers, as I mentioned previously).
I have lately ordered products that aim to help detoxification of the digestive system and also heavy metal toxicity. I will let people know of any benefits.
Sean.
(I mentioned a herbal tea I take in the previous post. For anyone interested, It’s a detox tea that contains the following herbs: cleavers, dandelion root, dandelion leaf, and red clover. See:
http://www.healthandherbs.ie/index.php/healthshop/view/productdetails/virtuem...
I only began taking it on April 8th, and do not know if it helped with my skin improvements. It claims to help cleanse the liver, lymphatics and kidneys. It may have being of some minor benefit in my final improvements; I do not know. I’m sure most health food stores have teas with similar herbs in them. If not there are tinctures that contain dandelion and milk thistle that claim to help support the liver in detox. Just be careful about taking herbs if you are on medication)
