I still drink bottled water because I live in Canada, buy a Canadian brand, and trust the health and safety regulations here, but if you don't, you should buy a filter for your tap. They have ones you can put under the counter and replace the filter every once in a while. Those are really effective I've heard. You could also try distilled water in those huge jugs.
