No matter which iodine you get, do a little experimenting to test your skin's tolerance. Dilute some drops in a small amount of water, and spread that on a small area. As you get braver, use less water and larger areas of skin. Especially if you decide to use the iodine straight, remember to alternate sides day to day so your skin doesn't get inflamed. I've done that and it doesn't feel good.
