Can I tell you what I do, it's pretty easy. I just attach a bathtub/shower hose to my bathtub after the hot bath and apply the cold water that way, laying on my back with feet up above the faucet. Actually, my new bath has water that kind of shoots outward, and now I don't even use the hose, just scoot my butt up under the hose. Not too bad!
