I can confirm the spontaneous healing. I got EC when I was about 10 (I am sure through constantly licking my lips). It stopped suddendly when I was about 18 (I felt very happy back then) then started again at ~20, lasting until now (I am 25).

It drives me nuts. I always try to remember how my lips healed back when I was 18 and the things that come to my mind are those:

01) Applying a cream called Biomaris skin cream three times a day very thinly.
02) Eating bread instead of cornflakes in the morning.
03) I got contact lenses back then.
04) Stopped looking into the mirror constanly.

I also think its very much a psychological issue. But that doesn't make it easier...quite the contrary: "Don't think about ELEPHANTS...what are you currently thinking about?" Got the problem?
