Hi.

I'm on the last of ten days of the triple therapy, as per the CDD and badbugs website. Actually my gastroenterologist threw in an anti-candida drug as well, as that was all my tests showed, but I've got otherwise classic blasto symptoms, tending very much towards the constipation side of things. I've been suffering for ten years, round figures. I think I caught it (whatever it actually is) from drinking untreated mountain spring water that I used to collect, telling myself that it was better for me than all that nasty chlorine treated town water. Boy, was I wrong about that! The city council, to their credit, put up a sign at the spring stating that the water had consistently failed tests for fecal contamination, which I blithely assumed meant the occasional bit of possum poo. The impact of the vast numbers of human visitors to the mountain top never really entered my thoughts.

Tried every voodoo trick of mainstream and alternative medicine ever conceived to get my bowels moving properly again, to no avail. I got to the point where I needed several enemas daily to avoid the pressure in my abdomen from preventing me from sleeping and making me generally uncomfortable. Discovered that the term "weird shit" has a literal meaning.

Finally found badbugs and Jackie recommended a great Gastro who knows his shit, both in the literal and metaphoric sense.

Day one of the anti-biotics laid me horizontal, but only temporarily. Just a bit woozey. After around 4 days I passed a stool with an ease of which I have been unaccustomed to for many years. I've cruised through the rest of the course but today, the last day, I've felt ill throughout the day. I've also come out in pink spots all over my body. No idea what's going on there, but I'm hoping that it indicates that the blasto or whatever it is that has been ruining my life for most of the last decade has finally bitten the big one and is now being disposed of by my biological garbage collectors. I certainly hope so. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bug. More than happy to cop a few spots and feel a bit off colour if that is the case.
