I am sorry for your loss. I hadn't checked my emails on the Curezone in a while and just spotted yours. Keep chanting the Amitabha Buddha mantra:

OM AMI DEWA HRI

The more you can chant it, the more you can transfer positive merits to your beloved dog. The more positive energy you can create for him, the higher the heaven he can achieve.

It sounds like your mom received a positive sign that he is well and being cared for. According to Buddhist cosmology, whatever heaven he makes it to can be a RESTING PLACE for a limited time before reincarnating again as a human.

Thus, chanting of the mantra can be done for the whole 49 days after his passing with the INTENTION that he make it to the deepest Heaven Realm called the Amitabha Pure Land which affords the most blessings and no more reincarnating.

It may be likened to the Christian concept of the 'Kingdom of Heaven' where there is Eternal Bliss, Eternal Rest or Eternal Peace.
