there is a difference between being what may be called mildly dehydrated and dry fasting. For some reason, the body reacts differently. It knows how to conserve.

The fasts in the Bible were dry, i.e. Jesus, Moses, etc. We're talking 40 days here. Seems impossible to the human mind.
