Yes, viewed about 200 hair tests and actually discussed 100+ with the owner of the test and members of the Yahoo chelation groups--frequent dose chelation, autism-mercury and adult metal chelation.

They can be wild as you see.

Andy Cutler, PhD Chemisty, has a theory about how mercury fouls up movement--"transport"--of minerals. This also affects the movement of the various elements into hair.

According to his theory, once Hg has fouled up mineral transport sufficiently, the levels of the elements--toxic and essential--don't generally reflect body levels very well.

The essential elements section is critical to Cutler's theory. That is where you notice the "degrangement"; however, in rare tests such as yours, even the toxic elements looks deranged.

I'd love to see the essential elements section. I imagine all but a few of them go to the right side of the page--high or high--norm.

Don't worry the levels in hair generally don't reflect body levels; it is just Hg fouling up what is going into hair--and other parts of the body.

So we don't know if there is actually high Ti in the body or just that the body is dumping Ti and leaving low levels in the body. Cutler is not usually very concerned about Ti, especially when Hg is involved.

However Al is synergistic with Hg. He thinks the levels in hair are often due to Hg's influence. I think it actually gets retained in the body but I'd have to check his book--Hair Test Interpretation--noamalgam.com

The bottom line here is that according to Cutler's theory, mercury is the underlying cause. When this is the case Hg is usually *low* (there are exceptions such as recent exposure to organic Hg in fish). Check out this study of autistic kids--many of those kids are thought to have a heavy metal problem.

The highly autistic children typically showed very *low* mercury in the hair. In contrast, healthy children showed levels of mercury in hair that were consistent with the mother's level of exposure to mercury.

I bet your brother would do well to get rid of his Amalgam filling and chelate (remove) the mercury and heavy metals--safely!

You can learn more about Cutler's views on what is safe in this discussion with Dr Dan Pompa, both of whom had Hg related health problems--tremor, CFS, mood problems, etc--and got nice gains from detox.
