I'm concerned about a job that I loved before I submitted an internal transfer request for a different, higher level position. My direct supervisor says he highly recommended me to the hiring manager and told me I have a pretty good chance, especially since my previous two jobs proved my experience in training on the job, which is what the job is for.

Then I heard a couple different instances of the hiring manager going out and recruiting people to submit applications for this position. WHY not choose from those who actually WANT to do this and submitted for the position on their own accord?
The job requires is essentially a training job and requires that you train new hires on an individual basis, on the job.
One of the men approached didn't even want to submit an app for the position but did anyway because the manager asked him to. He doesn't like helping those on his own team! I know this because I am on a team with him and he intentionally avoids our question thread because he's entirely uninterested in helping others, whereas I go out of my way to try and answer every question I can, pay special attention to newbies on my team, and even sacrifice some of my time and break time to help them.

Another person approached by the manager, and this one REALLY upsets me, was practically bribed. This guy didn't want to apply for the position and the manager asked what it would take. He said, "my brother would like a morning schedule" which are coveted schedules. I had to work my ARSE off to get MY morning position during a shift bid, as they are distributed by performance. So this guy is going to get something that others have to work really hard for, just so his brother can apply for a position that he doesn't even want.

This all makes me want to UN-submit my transfer request because the hiring manager obviously just wants to pick and choose people who don't even want the position, don't even like helping others, let alone training others. So what the heck? Unfairness at work isa HUGE motivation killer and my motivation at work is officially shot.
