when i spout things like, "iodine makes everything work better," that is not just some slogan i came up with. it is a truth born of much research and experimentation. this truth can manifest itself in a variety of ways. sometimes there is an immediate fix of a problem caused by deficiency. sometimes it makes everything work better but there is dysfunction in some system or organ that gets highlighted because of increased efficiency elsewhere. herbs and medicines can be enhanced or they might be made to no effect by detoxification. and so on.
the bottom line is that i have yet to see an instance where Iodine itself is the problem. take your kidneys, for example. what is the true underlying cause of that? dehydration? bromine hanging up? weak or damaged kidneys that cant handle the increased circulation in the body?
i have put a lot of effort into understanding the role of Iodine in human health. well, its right up there with water and oxygen, so saying any dysfunction is being caused by Iodine is like saying its caused by oxygen or water. can you get too much of either? yes, and there is such a thing as too much iodine, but its a ridiculous amount, just as it would be with water or oxygen. in five years i am the only person i am aware of who actually took too much iodine, and yet it was no emergency and i am still here.
so, as for the subject line, iodine can easily point out dis-ease in the body. this is related to another one of my mantras - "the worse the reaction to iodine, the more it is needed" - followed by, "the first reaction is the worst reaction" (if there is to be a "bad reaction". most people have no problem).
