You've got it backwards.  I've been meditating by running my energies on a daily basis for well over thirty years - without a guru, without even a group.  Your chakras, each of them, is something you experience - you don't think about them.  Turn within and you will find and experience your chakras and channels - all of them.  In fact, thinking about anything is a body energy and will not benefit you for spiritual pursuits. 

When you learn to recognize and experience who you are, the programming of others disappears.

I am my own guru - each and everyone of us has a guru within us.  That's where all my answers are, and that's where all of your answers are at as well.
