I agree with the majority in that link but there are a few that don't sit well with me.
A few interesting quotes i found in there:
"There are no healthy carbohydrates."
-Ok so fruit is bad?
"Do not eat honey."
-Really? Ive been eating a lot of local honey lately, said to reduce plaque on your teeth.
"The myth that a "free-range" chicken egg is healthier is related to the beef scam concerning omega-3 fatty acids. The plea to eat eggs only from "free-range" chickens is a scam."
-There are some eggs i can't even eat, they taste like fish, so id always buy local eggs at $5 a dozen. I can buy a 3 dozen crate from saveon for $6.50, the yokes are a pale yellow but taste fine. So there's no benefit to buying the local eggs then?
Right now i'm a healthy 190 lbs, athletic build, making huge health improvements since my low carb craze. Id say im 50% carbs, 25% fat, 25% protein right now.
When i was on a low carb diet, i quickly became 168lbs at 6'3, frail to say the least. I had muscle wasting going on, yet i was eating copious amounts of fish, beef, chicken, eggs and vegetables like kale, carrots, broccoli. Covered everything in butter, ate coconut oil. My hair and scalped itched, my joints were inflammed, mind was cloudy, had a horrible time speaking, episodes of sweating ammonia at night.
Too much protein i suppose, but then what is a person to eat to get 70% of their food intake from fat? There's only so much butter and coconut oil i can eat.
The only benefit i noticed from low carb was that my skin was perfect, it's still good but i get the odd breakout.
