From my experience, heat from a heater or hair dryer, can reduce, but not completely eliminate fungal infections, or golden staph infections. So the infections keep coming back, and you don't really achieve anything.

It seems that sunlight and ultraviolet light kill golden staph. These are not painful. But you need to expose the skin to the sunlight or ultraviolet light on many occasions, over months. And you need to get every bit of skin. Hence the ultraviolet light. To be effective with sunlight, you would need to find a place where you can be completely naked in the sunlight on many occasions.

Sunlight and ultraviolet light also result in the production of vitamin D, which helps eliminate cysts containing golden staph.

I have not used infrared, and I am interested to hear what you think.
