Ive taken anti fungal tablets and used tea tree oil but no improved progress just some continual improvement witnessed. This is not an infection or disease or anything IMO, it is simply a healing process of the damaged lips. The thing that changes from person to person is the initial cause but it is generally just overuse of lip balms or picking/biting lips.
