ilovjes - you should be ashamed of yourself for that post.

It is one of the most ridiculous replies I have ever read, such that I have registered here solely to respond, or rather ensure that nobody in their right mind ever pays attention to such nonsense.

If I ever find out as a result of that particular comment, that anybody dedicates a single penny or second of their time towards "religious pray", I will become irreversibly depressed.

I'm disgusted that anyone would suggest that their totally subjective beliefs have the "most realistic potential for a full recovery" to another person, and frightened because there are clearly people who believe such drivel.

As a tinnitus suffer myself, I've become frustrated with the lack of support for it in the medical world, and even with the number of junk results that you get from a search engine by searching for anything tinnitus related.

I don't know how many suffers will read this message but I would just like to wrap up what I have come to understand of tinnitus through my experience with it and what little valuable information you will find on the subject elsewhere on the internet.

Tinnitus is currently not curable outside of becoming totally deaf. There are several solutions in the form of procedures or medication that doctors or other "companies" are willing to offer you. None of these solutions will necessarily reduce the effects of your tinnitus, in fact as in the case of the OP, some solutions will actually make your tinnitus worse.

There are certain cases where particular solutions may greatly reduce the effects of your tinnitus. For example, pulsatile tinnitus has been known to be greatly reduced from certain procedures relating to the artery under your jaw line. Your ENT will know more about these cases.

In most cases however, there are different things you can try to reduce the effects of your tinnitus your self. Different things work for different people - unfortunately there isn't a single catch-all solution that works for everyone. For me, listening to quiet white noise can reduce my tinnitus such that I don't really notice it.
