Thanks for explaining.

I guess I'm looking at fasting as God's Spirit within us has not failed the fast, even if we feel like our flesh has failed. I would think we grow from each experience.

I have always looked at the difficult things in our lives as being part of how we are taught to overcome and be molded into the person God has intended us to be.

It is good to ask, seek, knock and have God teach us how to solve our problems but that does not mean He will supernaturally remove the problem until we learn and put into action that teaching.

Other wise we would be raised to be spoiled children whose parents take all of our problems away and we never learn to take responsibility for the problems life throws our way.

So if fasting does this for people....allows them to hear from God better and to discover the answers to problems in life, then I think it is just the first step. It's not the fasting that supernaturally solves the problem....it's the wisdom to be quiet and learn from God and go on to the next step.

The second step would be to commit to do what God wills. Once we learn what God's answer is we must decide (commit)to do what He teaches us....we must allow it to be written on our hearts, then we can ask for supernatural power to help us with our weak flesh to overcome the hardship.

In order for our will to be His will, we must renew our minds and place His wisdom in our hearts to obey....that is when we have knocked and the door opens to the supernatural to help the flesh overcome the obstacle.

Psalms 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you”

I'm hoping and praying that your fasting brings you the understanding you need. :)
