I wonder if some adrenal fatigue is involved. Check out wikipedia's page on pregnenolone the mother adrenal hormone.

You could also check out preg and DHEA at dr ray shahalein's site.

Finally some kids with aspergers have heavy metals as a contributing factor. This was a post in an autism group just today.
