Good summary.

I really recommend against the animal proteins because for me they slowed down the fast die-off that I wanted to happen. It's a bad infection and the body needs to be going after it and not the protein. I won't touch the dressings because they have added Sugar and oils. I tried salad with vinegars and am staying away from vinegar because it could be going after the good bacteria in the stomach.

I used school lunches as a way to crack down and get tough on myself. I would pack the steamed broccoli and spinach and just heat it up there. I would stick to these veg's and the brussel sprouts and a small potato serving. And then add a little more potatoes and rice. I know these things probably slow die-offs, but they give the body its necessary caloric intake. I steam a bunch of bland vegetables and bring them in gladware containers.

What about the following items: Avoid all now because they aren't part of the cleanse.

soy -not sure, showed up on my allergy tests.
carrots -probably bad at first. they have Sugar content rather than the just carbs in brown rice and potatoes.
corn-seems sugary for beginning.

Gluten free bread- tough call.
Popcorn (old fashioned air popper) Sure, give it a shot
Salad dressing (red wine vinegeratte)- They add sugars, oils, and soy. Try a tolerance for vinegar but it might work against your probiotics.

I tried eating 4 tuna steaks per day and a bunch of greens and had bad results. I tried a bunch of canned tuna and chicken with greens and failed too. The fishes that I mentioned are best protein addbacks because they are fat free but it is tough to say when it can happen because it occupies the stomach enzymes and bacteria etc. and could cause the carbs in all the veg's to ferment. So I opt for the veg's first because they can allow for the caloric needs to be met. I never liked asparagus before and would love to eat chicken salads, but there is really no diet plan that tastes good for this cleanse. It involves forgetting about taste altogether and focusing on the goals of the sports to join or other aspirations. We are dealing with malnourishment and impaired digestion, so everything going in has to be working for us. Nothing fits into the category of school lunch, dinner, breakfast and you would not be paranoid or overdoing it to give up on all norms with food.

My friend and i get die off from the veg cleanse in the same way. Headaches, sore lymph nodes, some brain fog...but at the same time a reduction in Depression and the visible rashes and itching go away...and then a feeling of on top of the world after a few days. The die offs happen on days 2-3. Ive had this happen before when doing veggie cleanses unknowingly. I'd get so sick i would just shut into my apartment and eat spinach in bed in anger, and then get the best days out of it. The trick is to add the very small chicken breast or fish serving per day without flaring up again. It's a constant test for tolerance.

I steam the spinach and boil it in chicken stock for a soup taste. It's nasty but medicinal. I use gf chicken broth to whip up the potatoes too. It makes them palatable.

Heres a pic of what we're dealing with http://www.nzymes.com/store/pc/articles.asp?article_id=6&type=&condition_id=&...
It was motivating to see this and infant's mouths and body rashes to see that it's a real bug we are dealing with.

Is your daughter at a normal weight? I'm focused on weight gain and my friend could lose a few for her wedding day. This cleanse is a win win for her..and my bodybuilding plans are on hold. Good luck and stay in contact. Don't hesitate to ask any questions..with this diet we all desperately want to add stuff, but there's a reason why most won't be added.

My diet is the most extreme and tough, thats why I am confident in recommending it.
