The instructions for my cuff said to put it on my wrist but not exactly where. With it on what I consider to be my wrist, I could never get two readings anywhere close to each other.

I moved it down clear of the wrist joint and it started behaving. My wife has had her BP taken several times over a period of months with me as witness and I've seen how the nurses have struggled to get a good reading from her.
