Not only can Paula Deen promote her diabetic meds she can also promote butyrate from eating butter! C'mon y'all pass me sum of dat budda!
Have you tried the butter oil? Green pastures makes a good butter oil. I would try the more natural route before supplementing. Sometimes its hard to compare the processed fatty acid to what is naturally produced from the fementation of the bacteria.
Whats interesting is the isolated extracts of the fatty acids ( caprylic, capric, lauric acid, butryic acid etc...) have a very strong acidic taste. Whereas when you eat the food source coconut oil, butter etc... You dont get any acidic aftertaste. Makes you think about the processing. I wonder what chemicals these companies are using to make the isolated fatty acids. Too bad some of these companies will tell you that the method is "propiertory" or dont get a real answer.
I found coconut oil to be much more mild on the gut then doing the isolated fatty acids(caprylic acid, capric acid etc...) I try to do the fats or oils with a meal/some fiber to prevent fom getting to nauseous....common sense... but sometimes I've caught myself doing coconut oil on a empty stomach and made me very nauseous.
I've learned the hard way to try to keep my diet/supps on the mild side. There is a lot of supps/meds out there that seem like a good idea, but for those of us that have a sensitive gut lining they can just delay our healing process.
What are you supplementing with?
