I don't think that anyone is advocating such high doses of supplemental Vitamin D, as indeed toxicity can occur.

What we should be looking at is optimal doses in the absence of sunlight exposure, and aim for blood levels of 50ng/ml and or 100ng/ml as a therapeutic blood level.
