I didn't completely answer your questions.

I forgot to mention that, yes there is a history in my family of High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. I do not want to be a prisoner to my genetic heritage. I understand that sometimes the Medical Model is the answer for some, but I just do not want to have to do any sustained and/or prolonged pharmaceuticals. I see the devastation that they can cause, so am looking to understand my body and its requirements.

I was a Registered Nurse and had a hard time with some of the approaches, so hence my statement above. I left the field for Information Technology...:-)

I believe there are answers for my problem that are even more natural than the approaches I have initiated. The critical issue for me is to understand the underlying problems.
