Wow, thanks so much for all your helpful advice, I really appreciate it. I have noticed I only get this terrible reaction after meals but when I eat a snack or something small I'm fine, so I'm just going to eat light and like you suggested, have broths and light soups for a while. I think I'll try the bitters too.
I do believe I figured out the cause. After thinking about it more, I'm not even sure the veggies were ever bad, I just think that was the initial discovery/reaction of the issue because if it was a bad bug, it should've been quickly overrun by the trillions of good guys. Not only that, I should've had a fever and I likely would've been vomiting. To give a little background, I have been given Antibiotics at LEAST once a year since I was a child for various reasons from strep throat to uti's, not to mention the years of oral cortocosteroids for my asthma. With all that, I had very little flora left so I think that having gone from very little flora for most of my life to trillions over a period of a few months was a bit much for my body to handle. Considering that the good bacteria produces all sorts of acids, gases and alcohol, it is probably somewhat irritating to my intestines that are not used to so much of it. I think I just need to lay off kefir for a while and let my body adjust to all the new additions before adding more to the mix.
P.S. I have also shared my kefir with my 3 cats. My girl cat doesn't like it but the 2 boys love it and they've never had any bad effects from it at all.
