Hello Ambler,
I am in full agreement with NH on this one.
Olive oil has been shown to promote health as part of the Mediterranean diet, but what most people do not appreciate or realize is that it is inadvisable to use it for cooking.
Olive oil is primarily a monounsaturated fat. This means that it has one double bond in its fatty acid structure. The problem with olive oil is its overabundance of oleic acid, which creates an imbalance on the cellular level that can inhibit prostaglandin production, which can increase the risk of Breast Cancer and heart disease.
My choice would be Coconut oil which is rich in lauric acid and a proven antiviral and immune system builder.
I wouldn't opt to ever eat dried beans because they tend to putrefy in the digestive tract; fresh beans are infinitely better for nutrition.....Dr William L Esser.
NH has given you some very good links to do with food-combining, and how this is based on physiology in maximizing digestion, with the least use of energy, and although it can start off as a bit of a pain to do so, actually becomes a way of life and very easy to follow.
The benefits far outweigh any initial drawbacks.
Mind you, some people actually like rabbit food, but that doesn't restrict us to just a few lettuce leaves you know!!!!
In a nutshell food combining is..................
#1. FRUIT eaten by itself as a meal
Melons eaten alone.
Do not combine ACID fruits with SWEET FRUITS.
#2. Avoid a predominantly STARCHY food with a predominantly PROTEIN food at the same meal.
#3. More detail here......
