May very well be.
After I started Iodine 5 years ago, I saw six of them appear. Before I had none. If the Iodine displaced the bromine, it could have been be a consequence.
Unfortunately, they never went away :-(
Even when I painted them with lugol.
Has anyone tried another external approach?
