I really doubt this, the added enzyme load by doing it as mead can give you certain temporary side effects. One way to test this is to make a long steeped Vervaine tea, if you get similar effects then its the enzyme load.
Those enzymes will stop the reproduction cycle of Malaria and many other protozoa..
