I have also tried the zappicator with the Arthur Doerksen zapper.
After several sessions during hours, the worms didn't seem to be disturbed and were still alive...
Not really efficient in my experience, but i may have used the device not correctly.
Can you explain with more details what device you use, how you use it, and your results ?
