Can anyone offer any supplements or ideas for speeding up the healing of nerve damage?

I had an operation on my face which involved the severing of nerves across a broad swath of the face. From my informal polling of other people that have this op, a few get the nerves back after a year or so and many people never get them back at all. It's sad not being able to feel a kiss or drink a beverage properly so I want to improve my chances!
