some people will chelate without the test
maybe do several rounds of chelation and see how they react.
if they have some sort of detox type reactions, it is probably a good bet they have a metals problem, healthy people usually don't notice anything if they take dmsa or ala.

you do not want to chelate if you still have silver (mercury) fillings in your mouth.
