This question comes up from time to time; and numerous nurses and doctors has warned us iodiners in what we do.
It frightened me in the beginning, not anymore.

Taking Iodine in big dosages over a long period of time, WITHOUT the companions, yes then we might talk about a poisoning. Very few of these docs know about Abraham, Brownstein, this group etc.

I have taken Lugols for 4 years now. Update coming soon. Balanced with selenium and the other companions I feel very well and safe. I have paused Iodine many times, just to check if it was it that made my symptoms; as things change along the way. It never was the iodine; always a deficiency or other things that made it. Except for when I overload; then I get the burning tongue, and eruptions. This is what we call a bromide detox, helped by taking salt and vit C ++.
Not many docs believe in detox, do they?

IMO the whole Iodine scare is a cover up; for other much more toxic stuff, as SouthernBelle mentions, pharmaceuticals etc. Bromide, Fluoride.. These are the real poisons.
