The dentist did tell my that any oral surgeon would more than likely not take proper precaution and during the extraction drilling may be necessary, which would cause little bits of Amalgam to fly all around my mouth...and it sucks, because all of this is completely out of pocket for me, I have no dental insurance. So Im pretty much spending $250 to get the Amalgam replaced, only to have the tooth pulled at a later date. BUT, it is safer. And when I'm getting the Amalgam replaced, proper precaution is being taken so that released mercury doesnt end up in my mouth.

I just got done with the first of 3 sessions. Everything went well, other than having my mouth open for about an hour and a half which was not comfortable. Also, the side of my mouth he worked on is pretty sore.

I have no idea what Im going to do about chelating. Eric, you seem to be one of the more experienced people here when it comes to that, so I may try whats been working for you. I mean, is there really an answer as to how you decide what chelating method to go with?
