Importantly with thyroid are the autoimmune antibody lab tests, three of which I have written in my notes that I need to get. Secondly, I think I meant to say pregnenalone which is the hormone that directly is produced from cholesterol, and is the building block for other hormones. I guess I have not read much on the subject of a master hormone, so I am a bit sketchy.
It makes sense in one regard because it would allow for you to give your body more of a decision to how to correct for multiple hormone shortages and reduce the risk of adding too much hormone. But if you have an imbalance, than this just becomes amplified. This is the practical aspect of the methylation cycle. The hormones become imbalanced because you minerals become imbalanced. Methylation is a biochemistry term that pertains to cellular metabolism.
Discerning imbalances is pretty difficult, and some of that often delves off into the realm of mercury detox.
People with just thyroid disease or diabetes are often not as sly at diagnosing and treating these problems. You have to give credit to the parents of autism kids and to the people who mercury detox- they really understand a lot of Science that explains what causes these diseases. That is why I bought books specifically about Autism, just to study the science. Because it has a broad application to other diseases.
Thyroid hormone can be treated and diagnoses via T3 and T4. You may want to get free T3 checked. People often take some sort of real dessicated cow or porcine thyroid containing more T3 such as Armour brand. It is prescription as well. This would often alleviate the symptoms thyroxin causes, which are numerous and probably extremely dangerous long term.
The issue is that if you have adrenal fatigue, and you take thyroxin than you will most undoubtably end up with more symptoms.
Adrenal fatigue is especially hard to treat. I still do not know how to deal with it, if that is indeed what I have.
I fear that many with adrenal fatigue do not actually have adrenal fatigue, and that it is actually a more severe form of HPA-axis dysfunction. This could mean that they are experiencing problems with the pituitary gland or the hypothalamus.
Regarding diseases that affect those glands- the Science is phenomenal and over my head and the discussions on here. It affects a cascade of other hormones and the net result is diseases that involve HPA-axis. These are often things such as Addison's, Cushing's, Bi-polar, Manic Depression
With any kind of a broad hormonal gland based problem, it seems the only solution in lue of Doctors not treating the root problem, is to detox over a long time with healthy Diet and exercise. This is quite challenging.
In time, with a drastic overhaul of herbs and detox, I believe glands can heal, and hormones balance, but this is just as difficult as saying you can cure cancer. It can be done, but it is difficult.
