well, to tell the truth, most of the women we have had participating in this forum have been a bit older. one thing has been abundantly clear, though. Iodine changes the entire menstrual picture.
whether post, pre- or perimenopausal, dramatic changes took place the first two or so cycles. some skip a period, some have a heavy period though they havent had one for a while, some went into menopause with no problems, and on and on. the final outcome of all was positive, with periods like they used to have as a teenager to menopause with none of the complaints that come with that such as hot flashes(my wife is one of the latter).
my daughter turns 20 on friday. she has been taking Iodine for years now. she was taking 200mg from before she was pregnant all the way to today. her pregnancy was a breeze, the birth was flawless and the child is a genius, coming up on 17 months this month. and little noah gets 30mg of KI per day.
hormones are tiny little amounts of chemicals that have a big effect in the body. it takes time to even things out.
as for doctors, they are in the dark. you got lucky and had someone suggest 200mg of iodine. that is a fine amount for life. it wont hurt you. and being iodinated and taking Iodine at your age is a godsend for later on when you do get pregnant. your child might be running mental circles around you by age five but you can deal with that when the time comes. lol :)
so many times i have talked to my daughter and discussed the medical community's attitude toward women and children. the impression they give is that women and children need doctors on a constant basis or they might die. grace has been through enough now to know this is all a farce. she says she will not birth in a hospital next time. her child has no vaccinations and has already breezed through the measles. some might say that grace has just been lucky. well, she is lucky i know what i know and that she is willing to listen to me. she loves life and has no fear of being alive or being a woman. she is beautiful beyond words, inside and out.
so go and do likewise. i know you can.
