I'd like to mention something about TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). For about 2-3,000 years, the Chinese had refined herbology with phenomenological procedures (pulse, tongue diagnosing, etc.) to determine a regimen of herbs. And always herbs were the primary form of treatment supplemented by moxibustion, accupuncture, etc.
During/after the people's revolution about 50-60 years ago, the government developed a "new" system of health treatment whereby accupuncture became the primary regimen supplemented by herbs. That was wrong since herbs have the most profound effect on the body's bio-chemistry than does accupuncture.
The old way is called Classic Chinese Herbology whereas the new is called Traditional Chinese Herbology (TCM). So, nowadays, when people hear Chinese Herbology they get a less effective form of herbology than with the old Classic Herbology. Don't be taken in by this new, modern trend.
Just because a professional uses herbs doesn't make them an herbalist. Besides, most professionals use a commercial product. Custom blending of herbs is the best way to go. That's why I make all my own extracts and custom blend them.
(Don't worry, I'm here only to give direction and some advise, not sell my services.)
