Hi parazapper,

Always a good thing to have more options, though some are not very wise.

For instance - at electroherbalism.com they say: “Since most people will forgo using the wet paper towels on their zapper handholds and just grab onto the copper, which is NOT recommended, a zapper with stainless steel handholds, or better yet, one which can connect to TENS pads with tip plug cables, is recommended.”

I believe the recommendation of stainless steel handholds, as above, is wrong. This was explained before by MZap:

“Electricity makes metal ions to migrate into the electrolyte through the positive anode. (The electrolyte, in our topic, is your body). This reaction is useful in electroplating, and should be avoided in a zapper.”

He also has some info about frequency (and more) at his website:

(quote) “The resistance of the human body varies according to various parameters:

= Tiredness, health, age of the person;
= The hygrometrical (moisten or dry) state of the skin at the points of contact;
= The quality of the skin;
= The area of contact;
= The voltage applied between the points of contacts.

“The resistance of the human body varies from a few hundreds of kohms in low DC voltage, to less than 200 ohms in the case of electrocution by a flash of lightening.”

And:

“The frequency (rhythmic voltage fluctuations) allows the current to bypass the skin resistance (very high) to penetrate through the capacitive effect of the skin, which offers a much lower capacitive resistance, as frequency increases.”

“This capacitive resistance (Impendance) follows the formula Z = 1/CF2pi. With a capacity of approximately 0.01uF (order of magnitude with copper handholds) impedance to 2.5kHz frequency will be 6366 ohms. At 30kHz, the same formula will give us approximately 530 ohms, or 12 times less. The FREQUENCY will therefore determine the ease with which the current will penetrate through the skin.”

“Our personal tests (all impedances combined) with a DC voltage of 9V (no frequency)(2 copper handhold) reported a resistance of about 25k on bare copper and 10kohm on the handles with wet and salty paper towels..”

= With a frequency of 2.5kHz, the overall resistance decreases to about 1kohm.
= With a frequency of 30kHz, the overall resistance decreases to about 750ohms. (end of quote)

Off course you know all this better than anyone. In any case, he’s good explaining some concepts to non-techies and neophytes.

What about TENS pads with pure silver conductors? The manufacturers claim they increase conductivity by 10.

Regarding the “men and women in blue, black, green or khaki”, we have something similar in my Country. Here, they act in the field of food safety and economic supervision. They dress like ninjas (hidden faces and heavily armed) and act like gorillas in a porcelain store. Basically, a poor farmer can’t sell raw honey (or others products of the land) at the local fair, if the products are not certified. Our gorillas don’t like bananas, they prefer fresh cash…

“What you say can and will be used against you is a common phrase for law enforcement.” Everyone knows that line from the movies… and I lived in the US for awhile. Now, I'll use my right to remain silent. :)
