Crowning Glory Of Beauty
In our culture, our obsession with physical appearance knows almost no boundaries. A huge part of how we perceive ourselves stems from how we think others see us. We spend tons of time looking at the mirror before going out to face the world because we are so concerned about what other people might think when they see us with the clothes that we are wearing and the hairstyle that we are showing. We all know that what is inside is more important, but how else do we show that we are beautiful inside if we don’t make an effort to look our best on the outside as well?
The hair is considered as the crowning glory of a woman. When a woman goes out, she is judged not only by the make-up she puts on and the clothes she wears but also by her hair. Since beauty is generally equated to looking younger, so too must the hair look more youthful if a woman wants to be perceived as beautiful. But it is not only the female of the species that is concerned with physical appearance. Men are increasingly becoming just as vain as women. Men are doing more to maintain younger looking skin and recapture the full, shiny head of hair that they had in their younger years.
Major cities like Los Angeles and Miami are often thought of as places where image is more important. Increasingly though, more traditionally laid-back urban centres like Tampa are becoming more like the major cities in this regard. One might easily assume that a Tampa hair restoration clinic or renowned beauty salon will have almost just as many clients as a similar establishment in Miami.
Many hair beauty treatments such as colouring, curling and straightening involve the use of harsh chemicals and high levels of heat that end up damaging the hair. Initially, the hair looks great when you step out of the salon. But over time, it becomes dry, brittle and older-looking. There could also be more hair loss, and a thinner head of hair always looks older than a thicker one. Baldness is one of the most obvious indicators of a man’s age. Thus, hair restoration becomes very important in the pursuit of a more youthful appearance.
Apart from hair styling procedures, exposure to the elements such as sunlight, dust and air pollution can contribute to hair damage and hair loss. While most of an average person’s time is spent indoors, there are certain places where the outdoor environment is much sought after. The people in these places might suffer more damage and might therefore be in greater need for services such as hair restoration.
In evolutionary anthropology, it has been theorized that modern man retained a thick head of hair but lost most body hair more because of the issue of becoming more attractive to the opposite sex. It has less to do with issues like body temperature or heat control. It is true that people can sense a feeling of attraction when they see a beautiful head of hair, even from the back. It can definitely be concluded that looking good involves having the best hair you can possibly have.
