EDIT: The radiologist updated the new PET/CT results. The new and old tumor sizes are as follow:
NEW: 5.8 x 2 x 4.4 cm
OLD: 5.2 x 2.3 x 5.3 cm
That is approximately a 20% decrease in the new tumor size.
Keep in mind that some of this could be scar tissue as well.

Could the bone lesions be Osteomyelitis that are highlighted by the FDG, as referenced to in the article that my brother posted? She does have some of the symptoms, and according to the site below, it is caused by bacterial or fungal infections that can spread from the skin to the bones:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001473/
It could be from a number of things other than cancer.
Her inflammatory breast cancer was accompanied by at least a bacterial infection on the skin, maybe a fungal one, as you have pointed out. But we suspect that it is passing, as her wounds are healing (no pus for weeks), her skin is turning less red, her skin is not as thick (May scan: 12mm, Dec. scan: 6mm), etc.
Yes, those are excellent indications.
She has bone pain, fevers, and swelling (right arm).
Does arthritis only affect the joints?
Actually that is the definition of arthritis, inflammation of the joint.
Can it cause damage to the bone itself? Can this be arthritis?
With certain forms of arthritis the bones themselves can be affected.
You did mention in a post from several months ago that the first PET/CT showed a Dowager's hump forming in her throat, a sign of osteoporosis.
With her spine, not her throat.
I believe that it is the same region that is reacting so heavily to the glucose, even more than the affected breast: 7.6 vs 7.4. You wondered why it was not included in the report:

The Dowager's hump does indicate microfractures in the spine, which will increase the glucose uptake. As I mentioned in my earlier post I am not convinced that the lesions in the neck vertebrae are from metastasis. It is more likely a pre-existing condition.
She's had bone pain for as long as we can remember, including in her back (we've been giving her massages since elementary school, college graduates now), but it's gotten particularly worse recently, and its not exactly the same pain she's been having. What's more, she has foot and wrist pain, which is similar to the bone pain around the rest of her body, which cannot be cancer jumping from her breast to these distant regions. They did not find anything there, but I don't think that PET/CTs examine the hands and feet, etc., but just down to the pelvis.
Keep in mind that stress can adversely affect bones as can some of the medications she is on.
Finally, what do you recommend for her to take given the deterioration of her bones?
I have the Bone and Joint formula, which contains the various nutrients for the bone as well as growth enhancers for bone.
Getting back on the Rife unit will also help.
