Great story, Chaz.

One thing to add to this is that having your hair cut by a supposed 'authority' could be analogous to a sheep being sheared by its 'owner'. This could have an effect on a deeper level of one's psyche (lost sovereignty & the imposition of a conflicting paradigm, etc.)

Could be, in part, the reason why I have experienced conflicting attitudes from other male authority figures (as I like to keep my hair long). Perhaps, having long hair is a sign of independence, non-conformity, which can be admonished by those that have already allowed themselves to be subjugated by a system that imposes such norms in appearances on its participants.

Side note:
By the way, I finally received back a reply from the Sheriff in the county where I live. This is what is said:

Dear Turiya

Re: Service Complaint / Discourtesy

You made a service complaint of discourtesy to the Sheriff via letter dated May 25th, 2011 and received by our Office on June 8th, 2011. We conducted an investigation into your complaint. Your complaint was founded in part and appropriate corrective action was taken. I apologize for the delay in response.

In your letter and unrelated to your service complaint, you made inquiry regarding whether an oath of office was taken by the Sheriff and members of his staff. The answer is yes.

This matter is closed.
