Just an immune reaction to the HSV-3 toxins. Think of HSV-3 Zoster to be the pathogen but the toxin is what causes the break out of Shingles, from an old post followed by a link:


Well, we know you cannot get rid of HSV-3 unless you remove Hg and its pollutants primarily Tellurium but certainly others. Somewhere in my rantings you will find a post about a Medline doc about treating HSV with Cilantro and how Cilantro had the ability to wipe it out by removing these pollutants.

NOTE: They manufactured a Cilantro concentrate time release pill for this trial, the only thing close would be Cilantro tincture taken frequently… Also those usual trial subjects where young with minimal Hg toxicity…most likely NOT the case with most today.
