Don't become too enamored with cre3dit unions. They draw from the same fractional reserve credit window at the Fed to create loans from thin air and are also backed by the same FDIC depositor insurance (if the institution loses your funny money we will create a replacement). The only difference is that the local level banking profits are shared among the members.
It's the same game but the dealer is your neighbor.
