I have no idea what to recommend except the obvious - with ANYTHING that expensive or invasive ABSOLUTELY get a second or third opinion. Secondly keep oil pulling regularly at least once or twice a day. Will it give you a brand new set of teeth and gums - no. But it will strengthen your gums, help remove bacteria in all those cavitations - which is key to healing yourself.

Self healing of course may not do it all given all the damage dentists have done over the years so I would get multiple opinions, take the least invasive recommendation, and keep pulling regularly.
