I have a good number of tattoos (all black like you) and have been chelating for the past five months with DMSA/ALA with great success. If you need to chelate, you need to chelate. Unlike filling removal, removing tattoos isn't feasible in most cases, so you may as well go ahead and start (assuming you have no fillings to get out first).
